The Backspace Agent-Author Seminars are TWO intense, one-day, back-to-back programs of panels and workshops designed to educate and assist authors in search of a literary agent to represent their work. With only agents on the program, these casual, no-pressure seminars are a terrific opportunity to network, ask questions, talk about your work, and listen and learn from the people who make their living selling books.

The registration fee for each seminar is $210, which includes a catered buffet-style lunch with attending agents. Writers who wish to register for both seminars can do so at a discounted price of $370. Each one-day seminar features an entirely different program, with different agents on the faculty.

Michael Bourret, Stephany Evans, Scott Hoffman, Caren Johnson, Janet Reid, Emmannuelle Alspaugh, Eric Myers, Jennifer Unter, Alex Glass, Rachel Vater, Jennifer DeChiara, Miriam Goderich, Paul Cirone, Lucienne Diver, Laney Katz Becker, Jennie Dunham, Elisabeth Weed, Joe Veltre, Kate Epstein, Jessica Faust, Michelle Brower, and Paige Wheeler

Registration will begin the week of August 6.

Meanwhile, be sure to check out Folio Literary Management's Jeff Kleinman's excellent and practical article on how writers can get the most out of attending conferences.

“The conference was wonderful. Honestly, I don't know how Backspace hasn't been mobbed. It's no secret that agents/editors/ and even writers are weary of answering the same questions again and again. It's amazing to see so many professionals generously giving of their time. All I can say is thanks.”
